We were selected by our partners, Clarkson Evans, to work on behalf of St Modwen Homes to provide solar PV for 36 houses and two apartments at Locking Parklands in Somerset. Our installations helped the client to meet national sustainability targets and to cut their carbon footprint.
The stunning new builds are in the idyllic village of Locking, which is an easy commute away from Bristol. Located on the former RAF Locking site, Locking Parkland is part of a larger project by St. Modwen which, when complete, will provide a range of community facilities including retail space, a library and its own high street, all within walking distance of the new homes.
One of our challenges was to make the solar PV look aesthetically pleasing to maintain the feel of the modern, contemporary homes. To do this we fitted in-roof black panels on the houses and on-roof ballasted systems for the apartments. We installed 166 panels in total, with a special request for the flat roof apartment block to feed into the landlord supply. The solar PV fit seamlessly with the design of the houses and looked fantastic.
Senior Site Manager at St Modwen Homes, Rhys, said: “Eco2Solar worked efficiently from start to finish on this project. They worked alongside us so well, it was as though they were part of our team. They did everything we asked of them and acted professionally throughout.”
