Eco2<\/sub>Solar installed a large solar PV system onto the Head Office of the \t\t\t Community Housing Group in Kidderminster. The Group manage and develop affordable \t\t\t housing within Kidderminster, Bewdley and Stourport, and will therefore act as a \t\t\t great benchmark for the future, and enable to Group to severely lower their \t\t\t running costs. As the building is mainly used when the Sun is out \u2013 during the \t\t\t day \u2013 they can use as much of the free electricity as possible whilst still \t\t\t getting paid the Feed in Tariff for all the generated units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
\"Community<\/td>\nThe array measures 72 metres square and consists of 45 Sharp \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tpoly-crystalline solar PV modules on two areas of the roof. Thirty of the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmodules are on the rear of the building and fifteen are on the end to the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tsouth-west. These are then linked to three inverters housed within the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tbuilding. It is estimated that the system will generate around 8,000kWh\u2019s \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tof free electricity every year. This could add up to over \u00a33,500 in \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfree electricity and payments from the Feed in Tariff Scheme. Each unit of \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\telectricity produced receives a payment under the Feed in Tariffs which \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tare guaranteed for 25 years!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
On a green front \u2013 the Group is certainly doing its bit for the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tenvironment. The system is estimated to save at least 4 tonnes of CO2<\/sub> per \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tyear, and with the system expected to last for 25 years \u2013 this means \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\taround 100 tonnes will be saved over the life of the system! <\/p>\n
