Action 21, a sustainability advice company in  \t\t\t            Leamington Spa, collaborated with Eco<sub>2<\/sub>Solar to compile a scheme which would save  \t\t\t            homeowners money by having the systems installed over a short period in return for  \t\t\t            us being able to concentrate our labour in one place.<\/p>\n<p>The total size of the systems came out at 30kWp which works out at approximately  \t\t\t\t\t\t24,000 kWh\u2019s of free electricity every year \u2013 which assuming the customers pay 15p  \t\t\t\t\t\tper unit, equates to \u00a33,600 per year. However, the bulk of the money will be  \t\t\t\t\t\tcoming from the Feed in Tariff scheme, which makes installing the systems much  \t\t\t\t\t\tmore financially viable.  As a group, the homeowners can expect to earn  \t\t\t\t\t\t\u00a39,900 every year for 25 years. The rate is paid tax free, and is Retail  \t\t\t\t\t\tIndex Linked.<\/p>\n<p>The article from the newspaper read:<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/images\/joint-install-1.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Joint installation in Kenilworth \u2013 featured in Leamington Courier.\" hspace=\"10\" align=\"left\" \/><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\"><em> \u201cSolar energy will be powering a group of Kenilworth homes from now on thanks  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tto special roof panels fitted this week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe homeowners who invested  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tin the new system believe they will now save money on energy bills and  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\treduce their carbon footprint.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey got together earlier this year  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tafter Jan Burnell, who lives in Inchbrook Road, discovered that Action 21,  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe Leamington-based sustainability promoter, had negotiated a group  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdiscount arrangement with Eco<sub>2<\/sub>Solar, a PV and solar thermal supplier in  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tKidderminster.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMrs Burnell, a Kenilworth initiative for Climate  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tChange member, said:<\/em> \u2018The first scaffolding arrived this week  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t[11th October 2010] for the installation of solar energy systems on 12  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tKenilworth houses.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>\u201cPeople are buying now because it\u2019s financially very attractive, not much  \t\t\t\t\t\t\tbecause of what you save, but because of what you earn by producing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn fact it is so attractive that lots of people just don\u2019t believe it at first.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAccording to the information, an initial investment of \u00a310,000 brings in  \t\t\t\t\t\t\tan income, plus savings, of around \u00a31,000 a year, every year for 25  \t\t\t\t\t\t\tyears, which is a total of more than \u00a325,000 plus free electricity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf there\u2019s somewhere else where you can get that kind of guaranteed deal,  \t\t\t\t\t\t\tlegally, then I\u2019d like someone to tell me.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><em> Cllr John Whitehouse (Lib Dem, Abbey) was one of the homeowners who took part  \t\t\t\t\t\t\tin the group purchase of solar panels.
