Local Green Education Centre Harvests Solar Power

We are pleased to announce our recent solar PV installation at Northfield Eco Centre, a Birmingham based charity that inspires local people to lead greener lives. The two phase installation, which was provided by EH Smith and installed by Eco2Solar, includes one pitched-roof and one flat-roof solar system; which will enable the centre to demonstrate both type of solar electricity installations to visitors of the centre.

The pitched-roof solar system, installed by Eco2Solar, was provided free of charge for the Eco Centre by EH Smith and encompasses six Schuco 190-MS-05 190Watt panels; powered by one SMA Sunnyboy 12000 inverter. This array is expected to contribute over 937kWh of the building’s energy usage each year.

The second installation, which uses a Solion Sunmount flat roof system, includes five REC 240-PE 240watt panels; alongside one SMA Sunnyboy1200 inverter. This system was installed for free by Eco2Solar and will contribute an additional 986kWh of renewable energy each year; making a combined contribution of 1,923kWh annually.

This impressive contribution will provide Northfield Eco Centre with £404 in tax-free income each year from Government-backed Feed in Tariff scheme and will save over 3,527kg of carbon annually.

Eco2Solar were recommended as a potential installer for the Eco Centre by EH Smith, who supplied some of the kit for the installation, due to our long-standing relationship with them over the past five years. The Eco Centre decided to go ahead with the installation to cut the carbon and electricity at the centre, alongside showing their leadership within the community. Eco2Solar are very pleased to have been involved with the successful installation and hope that the panels can be used as great educational resource for visitors.
