Solar PV: Birmingham

Solar installation

Eco2Solar installed a solar PV and solar thermal system to this terraced house in central Birmingham. The system was installed as part of a trial scheme run by the Birmingham City Council called the Pay As You Save Scheme (PAYS). The Scheme is being trialled across the country and enables members of the public who might not have the capital available to afford a solar PV or solar thermal system. The Council pay for the installation and by means of an interest-free loan and subsequent Feed in Tariff payments, the customer repays the money. The customer had two Worcester Bosch Clearskies hot water panels, connected to a new solar rated cylinder. This will contribute to around 70% of the hot water demands throughout the year. The solar PV array will generate free electricity for the home. This customer also had some insulation and double glazing work done, with the whole project managed by Eco2Solar.
