The sun rises each morning and provides us with light and warmth - winter or summer. The energy from the sun, or solar energy, is the fuel that powers all life on earth; directly or indirectly. As well as providing warmth and light, green plants use it to produce food which in turn feeds us.
Solar energy, solar power or solar radiation is a renewable or sustainable energy source and an obvious alternative energy to fossil fuels - coal, oil or gas. In simple terms renewable or sustainable energy is energy that does not deplete the world's natural resources and does not release greenhouse gases such as CO2 into the environment - now accepted as one of the main causes of climate change and global warming.
There are two types of solar panel - those that produce electricity and those that create hot water. The Ecotube system from eco2solar absorbs solar radiation and uses it to heat your water. This
technology is known as solar thermal and is a particularly effective form of microgeneration - energy generated locally and under your control!
Solar thermal heating does not rely on
sunshine or direct sunlight to work. It
is very effective even on cloudy days.
If you are able to see there is solar
radiation and your solar thermal system
will provide heat.
eco2solar can install a solar powered hot water system in your home, public building or commercial premises. We can even provide under floor heating or heat your swimming pool with our solar panels!
It doesn't need to be hot or sunny for solar heating to be effective ...... so why not cut out the middle-man and get your energy directly from the sun with eco2solar!
-
Solar thermal heating is more effective in the UK than in many hotter countries because our atmosphere is less polluted.
-
On a sunny day, the UK experiences solar energy levels equal to 60% of those at the equator.
-
Sufficient energy from the sun is absorbed by the earth every 30 minutes to power the entire planet for a year!
-
Solar panels even work when it is frosty or in minus temperatures.
-
Solar heating is particularly effective at heating swimming pools.
